Tower Engineering Professionals is pleased to announce the addition of Dwight Collinson as the company’s full-time Chief Financial Officer. Dwight brings unprecedented experience to the executive team, having assumed many key finance and accounting positions prior to joining TEP. Dwight received his Bachelor’s degree in Management with a concentration in Accounting and Finance from Northwood University, then went on to obtain his Master’s in Accounting from Walsh College. Dwight grew up in Ontario, Canada and worked for a telecom distribution company for 4 years before moving to the United States.
Much of Dwight’s professional career has been at Sears Holdings, where he held various roles in the Merchandise Accounting group before transferring to the Merchandise Finance side of the organization. While there, he provided financial support such as Forecasting, Strategy, and Analytics for various business units. Dwight spent 11 years at Sears Holdings, living in Michigan and Illinois before accepting a Finance Director role in 2008 at The Body Shop and relocated to Wake Forest, NC. Dwight has now lived in NC for the past 8 years with his wife, daughter, and son. Along with establishing a career, Dwight is a USA Hockey certified level 5 ice hockey coach and has coached for the RYHA/Jr. Hurricanes organization since 2008. His son plays hockey and his daughter figure skates so when the Collinson family is not in the arena, Dwight enjoys being outside playing golf and working around the house.
Dwight is excited to be a “part of something special” at TEP. He is looking forward to and excited about being a part of a company with a talented group of engineers, support staff, and executive leadership team. When asked, what attracted him to TEP, Dwight said, “There are several things that attracted me to TEP such as the industry, the challenges of the CFO position, the size of the business that is primed for growth, the relaxed but get it done atmosphere, but ultimately it comes down to the people. I had the chance to work with Andy, Bill, and the VP team along with the Admin group during my time as interim-CFO, so I saw first-hand the passion, commitment, and opportunities that TEP offered. This is an exciting time for TEP and I wanted to be a part of it.”
Dwight shared some of his plans and goals he has for TEP. “In the short term, my goals are to learn more about the industry, establish internal reporting metrics that we can use to grow the business, and ensure that we have the systems/processes in place to deliver consistent, accurate, and timely financial results to the management team and banks. The longer-term plan is to develop and raise the profile of the Admin team across the organization to ensure that we are providing the business support, tools, and analysis that the business needs to hit our company objectives.”
We are excited about Dwight joining our company and are looking forward to him being a part of the success and growth of TEP.
Welcome to the team, Dwight!
