Tower Engineering Professionals (TEP), has acquired Canadian telecommunications engineering and inspection firm, Pier Structural Engineering Corp., (P-SEC). TEP is an international telecom engineering services firm with over 750 employees and more than 20 offices across North America. Headquartered in Waterloo, ON, P-SEC has been providing engineering and inspection services for telecommunications and broadcast clients across Canada and the U.S. since 2005.

While TEP and P-SEC overlap in its core services, TEP CEO Andy Haldane said the acquisition of P-SEC enables TEP to expand its service offerings in the Canadian market. Those include: geotechnical, mechanical and electrical engineering, site acquisition support, fiber design and installation, small cell design, regulatory compliance, land surveying and construction.

“With continually growing industry demand, P-SEC provides us with additional well- trained skilled employees ready to serve our clients,” Haldane said. “Martin, Iain and Jeanne have created a leading company with an awesome culture and we welcome our new partners (Martin Piercey, Iain Harrison, Jeanne Piercey, Michael Morgan, Shawn Hoffmeyer and Alex Williams) and the entire P-SEC team to the TEP family.”

“We are excited to improve and expand our services offered to our Canadian clients while continuing to support more clients in the U.S.,” stated P-SEC President Martin Piercey. He said P-SEC and its employees will benefit from the international scale of TEP, its multiple offices and licenses in every state and province.

P-SEC VP Iain Harrison thanked past and present P-SEC employees “who have helped us build our industry-leading team over the last 14 years.”

Additionally, the acquisition allows for the sharing of resources and best practices between the two companies to make for a more powerful and focused platform to better meet the needs of telecom customers, governmental agencies, and owners of private fiber networks. Jeanne Piercey, P-SEC’s Director of Operations, commented that, “The amalgamation of these two leaders in the industry will provide clients with a powerhouse team that is well-positioned to assist in the rollout of 5G and future technologies.”
