Authorized Climber/Rescuer
In partnership with ENSA North America, this course delivers foundational training for technicians who work at height within the telecom industry and who need to gain a command of the issues surrounding access to telecoms-related structures using personal fall protection and fall rescue equipment. During the course, students are taught the hazards and risks related to work-at-height on a telecom structure. They are provided with the knowledge to recognize and control job site hazards and to implement safe access and basic rescue techniques.
TC1002 Course Description
This course provides safe access and basic rescue techniques for telecommunications climbers who need a strong foundation and understanding of the practical essentials of work at height safety, as well as a how to carry out a successful evacuation or assist in basic rescue procedures. This training exceeds the minimum NATE requirements for authorized climber and includes practical skill evolutions of self-evacuation by descent, towering a remote casualty and a ladder rescue.
Objectives
- Establish the importance of a culture of prevention.
- Identify risks and hazards in the workplace environment and conduct pre-climb protocol.
- Demonstrate the basic principles of fall protection and fall rescue equipment including care and maintenance.
- Perform a successful self-rescue.
- Perform a successful ladder rescue.
- Perform a successful lowering a remote casualty.
